1st Annual Gala

Celebrating “Alumnae/i Through the Decades,” the Foundation held its first gala – virtually – on May 20, 2021 and entertained 80 attendees from the region, around the U.S., and from Europe. Once a Pioneer, Always a Pioneer! Alums, parents, teachers, administrators, staff, and retirees joined neighbors and other community members to raise money to support Poughkeepsie City School District students. Alums from the 1940s to the 2000s shared memories and stories of how PHS inspired them.

Current students from the music program and cheerleading team performed, as did Lilia Keyes, cellist and class of ’04, Marc Malomot, tenor and class of 1988, and Jeremy Diggs, violinist and class of ’09. Attendees also enjoyed a video tour of the High School and snapshots of a major capital project that is already underway district-wide.

PPSF is very grateful for the donations and silent auction purchases of items generously donated by alums and friends of the Foundation. With their help we raised scholarship money for three children to attend The Art Effect summer program and for 2022 grants.
